Browser at Personal Babblishing

Almost two month ago, i posted about the Bookmark Synchronizer Extension for Firefox 1.5. Now i got comments saying “This file doesn’t work with FF 1.5.0.1”, so hum, i gave it a try. And thats the Way it worked for me:

At the location bar, enter: about:config. This will show you a list of Firefox internal preferences.
Right-click on the list, select New > String
Enter “app.extensions.version” (without quotes) for the preference name.
Then, enter “1.5” (without quotes) as the value for app.extensions.version.
Restart Firefox 1.5.0.1, then enable those disabled Firefox extensions.
Restart Firefox 1.5.0.1 again to active the extensions. Done.

~~I also changed the value of “extensions.lastAppVersion” from 1.5.0.1 to 1.5~~ (Not necessary)

I hope that works for you too.

Edit: I found these tips on sites about FF 1.2 extensions and thought they may work with 1.5.0.1 too. And so they did, yay.

Bookmarks bzw. Favlets

Jede Menge mehr oder weniger nützliche Bookmarks bzw. Favlets findet man auf jan.moesen.nu.

Ich war mir nicht ganz sicher ob die Dinger wirklich “Favlets” heissen. Kurz gegoogelt und neben der Bestätigung gleich noch einen netten Service gefunden.

Flock - teh bloggerbrowser?

Wie man seit heute überall lesen kann gibt es einen neuen Browser der von der Blogosphäre gehypt wird. Ich hab mir Flock gleich mal installiert und ein wenig damit rumgespielt.

“Sieht ja nett aus” – und los geht das rumgeklicke. Wo ist was und was ist das? Nett, nett, denk ich immer wieder. Bis, huch, was ist das, hmm, geht nicht. Ohh, das auch nicht, schade … ich glaube, ich spiele ein andermal weiter …

So in etwa verlief mein erster Test. Ist halt eine 0.5 pre version, aber trotz den Bugs bin ich auf die 1.0 gespannt. Und da das Ganze auch noch auf eine vernünftige Renderengine baut (Firefox) kann es so schlecht ja gar nicht sein.

edit: Ach und ganz vergessen, wer gerne einen wordpress.com invite möchte braucht sich nur flock zu installieren und auf wordpress.com/flock/ nen account registrieren.

So, schon lange keine Werbung mehr gemacht. Und in letzter Zeit ist das blaue E wieder viel zu oft in den Statistiken aufgetaucht. Ausserdem kam 1.0.6 erst kürzlich raus, das war also eigentlich ein Updatereminder.
