Neuer Mp3-Player - Samsung YP -U1

~ 27. January 2006 ~

Finally i got a new MP3 player. It’s a Samsung YP-U1 with 1GB storage.

Oh well, my old one, teh crap player himself. It had a lot of nice features, which i never really used and it had a lot of bugs i really hated. It crashed on a regular base and finally didnt start up anymore.

S1 Mp 3 & Samsung YP-U1Knowing about that shitty SUISA fees i’d have to pay after the 1. march. I was almost happy that it crashed for good a week ago, i saved ~15 SFr. (take that suisa)

Now i have a Samsung YP -U1 which has:

  • No more FM Radio

  • No more password protected partitions (i dont care, i never used them)

  • No tool for phonenumbers (i dont care, it was teh shit)

  • And hopefully no more annoying bugs

So what do i get?

  • 1GB storage

  • dictaphone functions

  • MP3 player and data storage (no cable, just like an usbstick)

  • supports MP3, WMA, OGG, ASF und WAV files

  • no more batteries, just plug in and it gets charged

  • some sound effects, EQ and bass booster

And yes, i could update the firmware. But i really don’t know yet, since the firmware upgrades with my old player caused more problems then they helped, i probably won’t update this player. Anyway the update can be found on this site. Attention upgrade your firmware on your own risk, your warranty will expire instantly.

I lived without a MP3 player for 1 week now, and it’s stunning how horrible it was. I’m glad i got a new one.
